1. Suppose that you were to apply a constant net force to a cart along a track.
Describe the motion of the cart which would result. Refer to any specific physics
relations to support your answer.

2. Now suppose that you had an object on a turn table and you applied a constant
turning force. Predict what motion would result for this object and record your
prediction.
Experiment
For the next few class periods, you will be using a Pasco Rotational Dynamics
System to study spinning systems. Before you begin to collect data, please complete
the following checklist:

A) Make sure the system is level.
B) Check that your system is connected to the compressed air lines through a
pressure regulator, filter, and gauge. Turn on the air and adjust the pressure
to approximately 8-9 p.s.i. Watch to see if water collects in the filter. If you see
any, please notify your instructor.
C) Get a "bottom" disk and carefully place it on the rotational apparatus (flat side
down) with the air already blowing.
D) Check that the system is plugged into a power source and that the connections
are made to the computer interface unit (Digital channels 1 and 2).
